In 1985,
a "green revolution" was initiated across Guangdong Province.

medal by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council of China.
In 1995, Guangdong once again took the lead to implement a classified
forestry management system, giving highest priority to the sustainable
forestry and strengthening forest resource conservation and forestry
industrialization. As a result, the multi-purpose forestry management
has been promoted. Since 1998, the forestry sector of Guangdong
Province has experienced a new stage of rapid development.
